Empower Your City - New York City is a non-profit organization that believes by empowering individuals to participate in the decision-making process, we can create a more just and equitable society.
Our Mission
Our mission is to bridge the civic engagement gap in New York City, ensuring that all residents, especially those underrepresented and underserved, are equipped with equitable access to political participation, the knowledge, tools, and opportunities needed to be active and effective participants in their communities. We focus on fostering youth engagement, providing nonpartisan education about candidates and community issues, promoting voter registration and participation, teaching effective advocacy and activism, demystifying the legislative process, and empowering individuals to interact with and hold elected officials accountable. We strive to amplify marginalized voices and foster an informed and engaged citizenry, ultimately promoting social justice and positive change. Our aim is to support aspiring leaders, whether they're interested in running for office or advocating for change. We are dedicated to creating a nonpartisan platform for informed debate among political candidates.
